VINTAGE CERAMIC STARTERS

Colorful hand-printed hors d'oeuvres where in the back you can see the fists of the hands that in the early decades of the twentieth century hit the clay to scale the reliefs of the leaves engraved on the molds.
From two, three, four, five and six compartments. In many sizes, up to 60 centimeters in diameter!
Many are not marked with the centuries-old SEVEN-POINTED COMET STAR logo because they were destined for the American market which at the time only wanted the "Made in Italy" printed on the ceramics: the importers required to keep the Italian suppliers secret in order to maintain the exclusivity of the areas and precious products of our beautiful country.
The applications were of fruit, vegetables, hares, rabbits, turkeys, cockerels, spider crabs, scampi and other fish that were trodden by plaster molds but then the finishing and the applications of leaves and embellishments were done by hand.
The appetizers were finished with very bright colors: the post-war economic recovery had not yet arrived and there was a desire for bright colors to brighten up the tables and forget the dark times.
They are objects that tell a piece of our history that began in 1685 in Nove and continues today.
