PORTONI APERTI 2023

On Saturday 9th and Sunday 10th September continuously until 10pm, we opened the Portone to curious and enthusiastic visitors.
During the event there were no shortage of suggestive moments, such as when Grazia Previato, author of "Ditta mia", published by Youcanprint, pleasantly entertained the audience by telling her where the idea of writing her fourth novel came from, what emotions she wanted convey with his book and why the art of making a ceramic object is described in the novel. Particularly appreciated by the public was the moment in which the author spoke about her bond with her native village, her carefree childhood and the sense of freedom of that past time. It was a beautiful afternoon in which we talked about books without boring, but on the contrary having fun, exalting the Polesine area, often mistreated and considered by most, and wrongly, a depressed area. A special thanks to the moderator, the culture councilor of the Municipality of Nove, Dr. Anna Pesavento.
And while the comings and goings of visitors continued (really many!), the evening arrived in no time at all, and the garden of the ancient factory, as we had announced, was transformed into an open-air cinema with the screening of an unreleased and original 8 mm documentary on the factory, shot in color in the 1950s by Lodovico Barettoni, restored and made projectable by Moreno Marcolongo with his beautiful vintage Microtecnica projector from the "Piccolo museo del passa Reduced". The film, originally silent, was presented with background music and live commentary that underlined the skills of the workers in working with ceramics while the images scrolled. What can I say: a huge success!!!!
Sunday began with a very interesting conference on the founders of our ceramic factory: "NOVE AND THE ANTONIBONS" organized by the Olympic Academy of Vicenza which we had the pleasure of hosting also for a convivial moment in the barchessa set up for the occasion. Followed by visits to the factory and its museum.
...and what would the Ceramics and Open Doors Festival be without a bit of music? A dutiful thank you to Luigianna's band for the joy with which they accompanied us also in this XXVI edition.
See you again next year!!!
