GUINNESS AMPHORA

18 YEARS AGO WE TRIED THE IMPOSSIBLE !

THE ANPHORA, DESIGNED IN 1887, NEVER WAS REALIZED FOR ITS DIMENSIONS: IT IS HIGH THREE METERS AND WEIGHTS 600 KILOS

A mammoth vase, so much so that when the sculptor Giuseppe Lorenzoni designed it in 1887 on commission of the Antonibon, the factory renounced to realize it and put the mold in the attic.

There, hidden, remained more than a century, until 2001, when Lodovico Barettoni decided to remove it from dust, made it work by the workers and fired it, with a thousand fears that the huge artifact was broken during its realization ... but fortunately it was not so!

Majestic in its three meters and four centimeters of height, with a wide base and a shrinking body: a little baroque, but elegant! Someone thinks it's the biggest vase in the world.

It took several kilos of clay to make it. A month of work, with two workers who have not dedicated themselves to anything else. Then two years of natural drying, to prevent it from crackling too quickly. Finally the firing, which lasted four days.

Four men moved those six quintals of weight and placed it in the entrance hall. It is still here, on display: to see it, just come to the firm.

But why the conception of such an object?

We believe it is the result of a war of grandeur among competing companies. And in this perspective, each competed to do the most amazing and most amazing things.
