Guglielmo Barettoni (1900-1970) Engineer

The first impression of Guglielmo Barettoni had a striking impact, due to his height of 201 cm. This characteristic made a bigger impression in those days than it would nowadays. In 1924 he achieved a Gold Medal in high jump at the Italian Championships in Genova. But he had to refuse participating in the Olympics because he graduated that same year and soon began working in his father’s factory. Guglielmo was granted the merits of best tradition in working the classical ceramic of Nove. As well as having the most beautiful traditional majolicas leave his furnaces. In 1935 he married Zenobia Bussandri, whose great sensitivity and artistic preparation was of great help to Guglielmo.
